Rev. Michael Brewster of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania has accepted my “Does God Exist” debate challenge which was recently posted on this website and reprinted in The Times Leader.

I had last spoken with Rev. Brewster during my protest of the National Day of Prayer “Circle the Square with Prayer” event on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre. Rev. Brewster agreed to debate, if I recall correctly, in his church and said that he would get back with me. Today, I received a follow-up e-mail from his secretary noting that the debate will be August 31 of 2013 and that details will later be fleshed out.

Stay tuned for more information pertaining to this upcoming debate. I plan to heavily promote/advertise the debate which aims to be open to the public and recorded. I hope to see some familiar and new faces from Pennsylvania and neighboring states — both religious and non-religious — in attendance for this historic event; this debate will be first of its kind, to my knowledge, taking place in Wilkes-Barre.

This will be my third recorded debate following two [debate one, debate two] which were streamed online and the first which will allow for a seated audience.

As always, feel free to leave comments below.
