Please Consider Donating
I update this site on a very frequent basis, am passionate about what I do, respond to comments from my readers and engage my audience, am very active beyond the keyboard, and am not in any sort of 'ivory tower.'
Unfortunately, blogging is no full-time well-paying position by any means.
If you enjoy my work and would like to donate something -- even a dollar that you would never miss -- as a sign of appreciation, I would be very appreciative.
Thank you!
Good article. I'm glad that someone is getting quotes directly from the atheists in question and not trying to paint them in a negative light.
ReplyDeleteFunny enough, I just had a dust-up at another blog where they supposedly talk about journalism. I'm sure they would pan your article, but then again, they are a front for Xian Reconstructionists.
What about when those religious symbols are also historical artifacts? This is not a cross made after the fact, specifically for the museum, but one that was discovered by workers at the site, erected and covered with messages. It's part of the story of the aftermath. If we get rid of it simply because it's also a symbol of Christianity, then do we also get rid of all the Stars of David at the National Holocaust Museum?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of religious symbols on public property, since I believe strongly in the 1st amendment. However, I'm also not a fan of hiding parts of history simply because they may offend someone. What's the dividing line when something is historical or a religious symbol?
